South Shore Rotary Club Flags for Heroes

Remembering those who served. Honoring those who serve.

If you are interested in participating in our 2025 Flags for Heroes, you can get a head start by sponsoring a full-sized American flag in your hero’s name or become an event sponsor below.

Your hero may be a Veteran, Active Military, Police Officer, Firefighter, EMT, Teacher, Coach, or anyone else that has made a difference in your life.

Each flag features a keepsake medallion with the name of your hero.

Inaugural Flag for Heroes

The inaugural Flag for Heroes, which was held in partnership with Catholic Charities of Staten Island, displayed 100 American Flags, which were each sponsored by an individual or an organization — whether that be active military, a veteran or first responder — and dedicated to a hero in someone’s life as a way to honor their memory. Each flag was lit at night at the entrance of Mount Loretto, 6581 Hylan Blvd. in Pleasant Plains, and each flag had a tag naming the person after whom the flag was sponsored. The flags were proudly displayed on the campus of Mount Loretto from Tuesday, May 21
until Flag Day on June 14.

Individual Flag Sponsor: $50 – Includes a keepsake medallion

  • Star-Spangled Banner – $750 – Includes 6 flags with keepsake medallions and listed as a Star-Spangled Banner Event Sponsor

  • Grand Old Flag – $500 – Includes 4 flags with keepsake medallions and listed as a Grand Old Flag Event Sponsor

  • God Bless America – $250 – Includes 2 flags with keepsake medallions and listed

  • Star & Stripes – $100 – Includes 1 flag with a keepsake medallion
