As a newer member of the South Shore Rotary Club of Staten Island, Secretary Alexandria Vale was able to apply for the New Member Rotary Grant. She decided to do something for individuals with Alzheimer’s/dementia in honor of her two grandparents, who her family lost to this horrible disease.

Vale and President Rosemarie Sienicki visited Adults Communicating Together (ACT) — which offers a day program for individuals with Alzheimer’s/dementia –to play games, such as bingo, cards, and word searches for mental stimulation and for individuals to have some fun. The South Shore Rotary provided each individual with a deck of cards and a word search book to take home to have some quality time with their families.
