The South Shore Rotary Club is teaming up with the William B. Wernicoff Foundation (aka the Dixie Fund) to raise funds for their upcoming event, Make a Dream Come True, which will support the dreams of two local young adults battling cancer.
The joint event will be held on Wednesday, September 18, 2024, at 7 p.m. at the Historic Old Bermuda Inn (2412 Arthur Kill Road). Admission is $100 per person.
The recipients are patients at Staten Island’s pediatric oncology medical centers who will be presented with their ‘dreams’ at the event.
“Once again the South Shore Rotary will partner with us this year to makes dreams come true for two young adults,” said Avery Marder, chair of the event. “For 66 years the ‘Dixie’ Wernicoff Foundation with a contingent from the Brothers from the Esquire Brothers from the Knights of Pythias, work to address the wishes of our community’s young challenged with cancer.”
Those eligible are 18 years and older, have been diagnosed with cancer and not received a wish from another wish granting organization.
“We aim to bring hope and sunshine into their lives,” added Marder.
Your donation to attend includes dinner with wine and beer included and live music. Raffles and basket chances will be available. For more information or ticket sales, call Avery Marder at 718-306-0001.
